The Placement Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Institutes placement processes and systems to ensure that all students requiring placement have appropriate, meaningful and timely work placements.

This position focuses on excellence in student placement support, industry engagement and educational administration centred on the work placement requirements for various program areas.

The incumbent is a key and active participant of the Central Placement Team and works to promote educational excellence, business growth and student centred services for the Institute as a whole.

Your key accountabilities will be to:

  • Work in partnership with the Central Placement Team Leader, other Placement Coordinators and Education Managers in teaching departments to ensure that the Institute arranges placements with the appropriate number and type of providers to meet student training obligations
  • Provide high level administration and placement process support to students, hosts and the teaching department
  • Liaise with the Central Placement Team Leader and placement host employers to establish a process and system that ensures all required Memorandum of Understanding and Host Agreements are established between the host placement providers and Chisholm Institute
  • Act as the key contact placement coordinator for allocated host organisations
  • Liaise with the Central Placement team leader to ensure Practical Placement Agreements and Host Guides are current and available to all students
  • Follow a process and system that ensures all students are kept informed of the dates and types of their placements using the current LMS (Moodle)
  • Keep abreast of Government policy changes to ensure adherence to DHHS guidelines, as well as  industry developments and trends to capitalise on potential opportunities


You will bring the following skills and experience with you:
  • Vocational currency as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience in line with a discipline requiring placement opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to Nursing and/or Allied Health Services
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and display conflict negotiation skills
  • Effective self-management skills including the ability to prioritise, problem solve, meet deadlines and follow through with student queries
  • Strong action orientation and results focused

In addition to this you will enjoy working collaboratively within a diverse team, be highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
